Who Are We?

The Special Constabulary is a body of volunteers recruited from within the community who work with and offer support to regular officers of the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS). Specials are dedicated to serving and protecting the Cayman Islands. The people who volunteer are everyday people who give up at least 15 hours a month to do something positive for themselves and their community.

When on-duty, Specials have the identical powers as full time officers and wear similar uniforms. Cayman Islands Special Constables come from a diverse range of backgrounds and nationalities. The Special Constabulary aims to provide efficient and effective operational support to the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) thereby enhancing the quality of service to the public and assisting the RCIPS to achieve its policing objectives.
